About HCRDC

Himalayan Community Resource Development Centre (HCRDC), Kalikot is an independent, non governmental, non for profit making, equal opportunity organization founded with the prime aim of socio-economic development of pro-poor and women, marginalized and excluded groups and communities in the district and the nation as a whole. It is being run and promoted by well qualified, experienced, adroit and highly devoted members from different backgrounds promising to develop the rural areas and population through maximum utilization of locally available resources. Indeed, it is the platform for likeminded people who have their interest on rural development.

The practice of resource development and promotion is possible only through heartily and meaningful participation of community itself and sustainable social and resource development won’t be accomplished unless the community rights are taken as their fundamental rights. Similarly, social justice cannot be delivered as well. Realizing this bitter reality of this area, a group of youths having the relevant experiences and believes that every philosophy comes across, formed this organization with the collective efforts. The organization HCRDC has been registered at District Administration Office, Kalikot in 2060/02/15 B.S. and affiliated with Social welfare Council, Kathmandu in same year.

Since its establishment , it has been involving in various aspects of community development activities such as Agriculture, Livestock, Environment, Water Supply and Sanitation, Rural Development, Skills Enhancement Trainings, Community Based Participatory Development, Income Generation & Income generation based Infrastructure Development, Capacity Building, Social Mobilization, Awareness Building, Tourism Promotion, Health, Nutrition, and good governance promotion Sectors. The organization has given a special emphasis to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the disadvantaged and marginalized people residing in rural settings of the district and the country. HCRDCaspires in achieving its goal through practical implementation of various rural development programs and carrying out researches.
